I had a U2 that had a harness. It was great, she learned how to wear it without a problem. She didn't fly with it on, but I was much more comfortable knowing she was safe. I also think it is important to have a harness due to the risk of predators like dogs or hawks that could terrify a bird and land them in a dangerous spot. Better safe than sorry. If your local stores don't have a harness, you can look at the birdsafe store online, or on ebay. PS if you are not comfortable touching your bird all over you may wish to avoid taking him outside. This is not a statement on your ability, but on safety for you and your TK.
