I'm hoping to get some thoughts on one of my new little female parakeets. I bought two females a little over a month go. One is grey/blue (Misty) and the other one is blue/white (Tia).
Tia acts like a normal playful bossy female. Since she's settled in, I'm seeing her true devious personality. lol. But Misty is quite the opposite and I can't help thinking there is something off about her. I just can't pin point what it is or if she's normal. I haven't had all that many baby parakeets. Misty mainly just sits looking happy. I've seen her eating and drinking and her poo is normal. She seems pretty healthy but she seems uncoordinated. I've never seen her hop to another perch or onto the feeding or drinking cup. She climbs. When I pick her up she wobbles a bit to get her balance like a new hatchling. She does perch on my finger but seems to prefer me to picking her up with my hand flat.
Since they both seem really healthy I've recently let them play on top of the large play cage with the other parakeets. They are all getting along really well but Misty doesn't interact yet with any of them. I have 3 male parakeets too. When the females are old enough next year I'm hoping to get some pretty babies.
So do you think this is just the way she's going to be or will she get more active and coodinated when she's a little older? Can anyone guess how many months old she is?
