Update on the babies

Today the babies are 4 weeks and 4 and 5 days old. My first time ever handfeeding has been an adventure for sure. They were pulled at 14 and 15 days old because daddy attacked my pearled Lutino Penelope drawing blood. i was planning on pulling just hadn't got my nerve up yet . luckily i had everything ready.

Well the little twits need to circle the house a few times before I can attempt to feed them and they pretty much refuse to eat most of the day...until night time. I have been keeping them in a cage all day for about a week now next to their parents cage and with pellets, seed and fresh foods. They haven't lost any weight so obviously they are eating pretty well on their own. Riley actually gained 2 grams today before ever accepting any formula so i would say our road to weaning is off to a GREAT start. I do still put them in their "brooder" at night....just for peace of mind but not really sure why as they are fully feathered?

first time eating veges as usual when it comes to food Riley is the first even though he is a day younger.
