My Kumiko has severe balance issues. The vet has speculated its a form of epilepsy, but his solution was to grow out her wings. The wing solution worked well enough, but I genuinely think she something going on with prioperception-- one of the neurological conditions I have myself. The body genuinely doesn't communicate with the brain correctly as to where it's exactly located. We're not talking about huge distances here, but even the tiniest of distances can cause a bad fall.

Physical therapy with an actual MD who is familiar with the condition ended up helping me a lot. I don't know what the solution would be for birds.

I think most "problem birds" have physiological issues that are not diagnosed because they are not common. And of course, ignored physiological conditions can lead to psychological trauma, in a kind of vicious cycle :-(
