Has anyone hand fed White Cap Pionus?
My first chick hatched today, and the second one should hatch day after tomorrow.
I have hand fed many birds in the past, mostly parakeets, cockateils, and Nanday Conures. So I am confident in my abilities to hand feed.
My main two questions are about temps for this specific breed of parrot:
What is the correct formula temperature when feeding? I normally fed my smaller birds formula that was 107 degrees F.
What is the correct temperature for the brooder? I kept my smaller birds at 95 degrees F until weaned.
Will these temps work well for White Cap Pionus?
I plan on leaving the chicks with their parents for the first 2 weeks so mother nature can get them through the first few critical days.
Any advice is welcome.
