what type ofmedium size parrot is good for apartment?? tnx for d help

Green Cheek Conures are great as they arent too loud and they are really cute, sweet, and relatively calm for a Conure. Also my Blue Crown Conure and many others Ive worked with have also been very quiet but when they do scream they are loud! Though they hardly ever scream. I've heard Pionus parrots are good as well but dont know much about them.

African brown head, we have one and she doesn't scream mimics all kinds of noises and says a few words.
She is quite loving and they are known to be good apartment birds.

I know a parrotlet isn't a medium size bird but they are great for an apartment. Easy to care for, relatively quiet birds. I posted a picture of mine, her name is Kiwi. But i would caution, parrotlets are a small bird with a big attitude, so.... I would find a "good" breeder, and make sure to get a tame bird bird, especially if you have children. A senegal (more on the medium size) any of the poi family other than maybe a cape parrot. Senegal is not for the beginner bird handler, so an older one might be better, one that is past its teen stage and tame. Budgies are good too, but they too are small.

Amen to that! Even my parrotlet with her call to me is a lil noisy thing. But most of the time she is soooooo quite.

I share my apartment with an African Grey. So far no problem.

I had to think about this for a while, since you still haven't actually acquired the bird you said you wanted. Well that, coupled with the fact you already own bird species that I have extensive experience with – so I'm trying to figure out what part of your life that you needed to come from a bird they weren't already fulfilling.

Here's what I came up with:

Budgies are bossy and domineering as all hell and some seed only fed birds develop vitamin A deficiencies that causes malformations in the throat making their speech almost inaudible(happened to one of mine).

Cockatiels are clingy, needy, and have repetitive calls that rarely develop speech and are always shedding feather dander.

Those are the things you don't want, because you already have them in your pre-existing birds.

I am thinking that for you a good match would be a greater vasa parrot. They're little bigger than a Congo African grey, highly intelligent, playful, and are relatively quiet outside of their breeding season.There are also like nothing else you could possibly encounter in other parrot species, and have a complete lack of jealousy towards other birds.

Pionus are known for being easy going and quiet. I have had my 2 Pionus for only a week, but while they do chatter they are quiet about it. I have heard them scream outside one time and it was fairly loud, but even a budgie can be pretty loud. Pionus are chatty but with low volume. I also have a Green Cheek Conure and he is fairly quiet as well, though he "yells" more often when he is having a lot of fun or the light is on past bed time. I really like both. I have owned Budgies, tiels, finches, and quakers, and I have never been able to nap in the same room as my birds until now! Did you know that the Pionus is actually nick-named "the apartment parrot"?
