I have a pair of lovebirds,
Male; Johnny
Female ; baby
I purchased my lovebirds yesterday, neither if the are tamed so because I have 2 I was going to start I one first. My female baby 6 months is quite timid and shy she doesn't do much she just likes to eat. My male Johnny is 4 months his quiet hyper but aggressive at the same time, so I recon to start on him first because it might take longer. So far he threats when my hand goes inside the cage ; he just flies like crazy! I've been trying it out my hand flat near him but, he just bites me but, let's me feed him without standing on my hand! So I don't know how to start? Please help me :)

Have you looked into target training with a clicker? That is a great first step. However, keeping a male/female pair of lovebirds together often results in lots of babies, lots of biting, and no tame birds. I would highly suggest moving them into different cages in different rooms until they have bonded to you, and never allowing them to share. Cage. Lovebirds, believe it or not, seem to be one of the more difficult species of small birds to work with, largely due to the fact that they are so often sold in pairs and have such a high breeding drive which leads them to be even more aggressive and territorial. It is not their fault, it is only natural when housed together.

Iv had mine seperated for over a year.. they ended up fighting and she nearly killed him ended up rushing him to the emergency vets as he lost so much blood and couldnt stop the bleeding... ever since them iv never let them out togther... only recently iv let them out at the same time under strict supervision.. iv used clicker training on dogs and cats never on birds iv tried everything to get them to trust me and feel comfortable with me around..
Are there any videos for the very beginning of getting the lovie to trust and eventually step up.. (i am more of a visual learner)

She has laid eggs (not fertile as she hasnt been in contact with male) and is very nippy i cant change her water or seeds without her trying to kill my hand lol
