my 10-year old Green-Cheek Conure is 10 years old and obviously this is not spring right now. He is displaying the male behavior of quickly bobbing his head, spreading one wing at a time, and going to the top of his cage and using his beak to contact across the bars like the jail behavior. He is also trying to build a nest. This has been going on for some time now. What should I do?

conure's are cavity dwellers not nest builders.
So I'm unsure what he us doing.
My conure will run her beak on bars to get my attention, or head bob to get my attention.

How long have you had him?

Cockatoos are cavity dwellers too- but they sometimes line the cavity and often have to widen the hole by tearing bits off/shreding etc (I'm guessing he's doing something like that). I'd strongly suggest removing all huts/tents/boxes/shadowy spaces, access to bedding, drawers, under papers/furniture etc . Also, give him 10 hours sleep on a schedule, pet only on the head and neck, and avoid warm/mushy food and shredding toys <--- this one can be temporary.

I'm not saying take everything away, but if he has a hut or hammock or anything, when he is not looking (very distracted) I would remove it.
