Sun Conure
Ok, I have a sun conure showed in the picture to your left. He kind of moves he's head up and down a lot i think it's like a gagging. I research and i read some forums that he was regirgitating (sry) and sometimes they do that because either is time for breeding season or some kind of hormonal thing. So right now i am wondering, should i start to finding a little wooded home for he's cage and try to find a mate for my bird. Or should i just wait a few more years. He's a really good bird, kiki cuddles with me a lot and my mom. We have strong bond with him, can I get some comments from serious experience breaders people that know this breed.

On my personal side also I want to question, if i get him a mate will she stop bonding with my mom and I. I know they usually get away from the owners when they are mating.. PLEASE LET ME KNOW..

Hey! So I can't promise I know 100% what I am talking about, but what I can say for certain is that when you add another bird into the mix, it becomes a lot more difficult to keep a bond with your bird. If you have the time and patience it takes, it is possible to split the time up between them and keep them tame. However, if you have the intention of letting these birds breed, my understanding is that it would be very difficult if not impossible to keep them as friendly as they are now. Most likely, your birds will bond with each other and make beautiful baby conures. But is that something you want?

Before you breed, make sure you understand what it takes to raise baby conures... it is not easy in the slightest. If you plan on selling the babies, it will take even more time and effort to hand feed them and keep them tame.

My personal recommendation is to just let your birdie hang out and make sure you're just being understanding for it. If it is, as you say, hormonal, it will pass!

Remember, I say this out of countless hours of research on the internet before I got my green cheek, not from experience.

I suppose this depends on whether you want to breed your conure in the long run. Is this what you wanted to do before getting a conure? If so, then do a lot of research into it. I can't imagine the time and effort it takes to raise babies as I have never done it before, but I can imagine it's a lot. You could also talk to some experienced breeders in your area and ask for some advice.

If not, then just enjoy Kiki's company and bond more. The regurgitation behaviour can happen, but try not to encourage it.
