I am looking into getting a small (~24") cage to put in my bedroom. My two conures (green cheek and rose crown) have a huge cage in the bird / bunny room but they get bored in the morning on weekends and scream when we'd like to sleep in a bit.

I was thinking of getting a smaller cage for the bedroom so we can bring them in the morning, maybe give them some foraging toys and a quick spray to keep them busy for an hour or two.

I was originally thinking of getting a perch, but I'd be afraid of one of them coming onto the bed and getting smooshed.

Anyway - I found a nice cage but the bar spacing is 3/4". I know this is too big for green cheek conures but I was wondering if it would be fine for a few hours (semi-supervised - we'd be asleep but not super heavy).

Thoughts? Or other ideas? Thanks!

Personally I would not risk it..but I have a tendency to be a little over-paranoid when it comes to my fur-kids. I just picture their little heads getting stuck somehow in between the bars..even if they don't get hurt, it could be very stressful for them.

There are plenty of cages out there, perhaps look a couple more times before settling on this one?

I house my two green cheeks in a 3/4 bar spacing cage but it is a little too big spacing wise for them. I would go with a 5/8 which is what I house my sun in and it seems the perfect size to me for conure spacing. I got my 3/4 cage because I couldn't find another cage that would work for what I needed in smaller spacing without drastically reducing cage size.

Yeah I'm not married to this one at all... Will keep an eye out. I sure wish they made more big cages with small bar spacing!
