Bf amazon
Hello all! I am wondering how to handle an upcoming situation...as some of u know we have had our 10yr bf amazon sisco for about 7 months now. He is a man lover/ woman hater(other than me who he loves/tolerates when the hubby is gone. He was neglected severely and in 7 months has completely changed for the better. He is on a healthy diet and gets to be out of his cage to play when we r home.....here's where it's about to get complicated...when we first got him we got his wings clipped so he couldn't do fly attacks little did we realize he was about to molt lol he now has all his flight feathers back n handles it quite well with the occasional flight around the room which has to b good for him...life is about to change for all of us tho because in two months I will be having a sweet baby boy!!! Sisco is used to bein the only child. How do I introduce them and is it safe to let him out with baby in room??? Thankfully baby is a boy so maybe that will help matters

Hello,

1- Congrats on the baby!

2- I would suggest clipping the wings again to avoid any possible attacks to the baby, Yes, Birds can become jealous of babies so be careful about that. Also, Here is a good link that contains few good advices:

Introducing your Pet Bird to a New Baby

I would say handle it the same way you would handle any other amimal. Very controlled introductions, and judge both parties equally. Get on a schedule now, as best you can, as if the baby is already here. Show him baby stuff, rattles, toys, etc.

Birds can be easily startled, so don't get too up close and personal with the bird and baby yet! Be aware your bird might also learn to mimic your baby's cries, or respond to them.

Overall I wouldn't worry though, it'll take time for them to get used to eachother!
