A Clever Foraging Toy

Looks like a great idea and lots of fun for the birds. (might even want a go myself)
Aussie Ben, you are too funny! :p
Spiritbird, thanks for showing us this idea; I'm going to do one for my new CAG I'm getting next week. I bet it will help with her transition to a new home.

I made one just now :D

She flys over from her play gym to check out what I'm working on.

Clever little birdy, but no sneak peeks for you. Wait until you get in your cage ;)

Sunny: If you dont mind me asking where are you getting your CAG from? There are so few up for rescue. People seldom surrender an AG so most people must get a young one from a breeder.

:o Oops Sunny - just saw the thread A94 linked, I guess I did know you were getting a CAG, I even posted lol. Man I'm forgetful sometimes

OK guys and gals back to the little basket. I just got the last one at my Wal Mart store and it is the least expensive toy I have ever seen that can be for a bird. As expected my Rosie is a little afraid of it now but that should change. It is funny she plays with her toys better inside the cage and not outside of cage. I imagine it has something to do with her comfort level.

Strange how birds are so different.
When giving Mishka a new toy, I must first play with it, on my lap, for one or two nights. After that she becomes inquisitive and starts playing with it. We tested her, put a new one in her cage about 5 days ago.
She never even looked at it  That soon changed :)

Yes we have to teach them to play with the toy. Rosie watches me but it takes her a long time unless I bait her with a treat near or on the new toys. After all from a parrots perspective it could be a predator!!
