I bought a new bean mix today and was wondering if anyone can tell me if these beans are safe for birds:
Christmas beans
Tongue of fire beans
Small red beans
Black turtle beans
Small white beans
Great northern beans
Pink beans

"Small red/white beans" ...that's the scientific name isn't it? :D
Black Turtle? Tongue of Fire Beans?? Wow, I'd like to see a pic of those!

Really, I'm sorry to laugh, but I've NEVER heard of ANY of those!
As far as I read, many beans can be toxic if undercooked? I know my birds LOVE cooked pinto beans.

I wish I could help, but like Julie I have never heard of many of the beans you listed:(
Hopefully someone else will be able to help with those.
Great link, Julie! Who knew there were so many different kinds of beans?

Great link raven! Didn't know they had multiple names haha

That is a beautiful mix! I am so obsessed with Bulk Barn, so many great things for the fids there:)

The mix looks good! I learned that what we call "black beans" are the Black Turtle beans you have!
Next time at (Chipotle) or somewhere they ask if you want black or pinto beans, say 'give me black turtle' and see how they look at you. :52:

I love all the flours as well! The red lentil flour is awesome in their birdie bread:)
I can't even look at the chocolate...I would need a huge tub by the time I got to the till.
