I know a lot of breeders go by the pelvic bones of birds, but I personally wouldn't know what I was feeling I think, lol! Somebody would have to show me both to guide me first. I have a thyroid nodule that the doctor felt in what seemed like 2 seconds. I can't feel anything, lol! The ultrasound guy asked me where it was and I had to say, I don't know, I don't feel it.
I will ask tomorrow what lab they do recommend. But, I won't be surprised either if the price is much higher. And if it is much higher I think I will just say, Pete is a boy because he is doing boy things, and forego the DNA test.
My birds all are mature enough at this point that they are pretty obvious. If you have a young bird though, you won't know unless you can tell by the pelvic bone I guess.
