As previously mentioned Ace is eating. He still doesn't play or chirp much. I talk to him every day. About 2/3 of the time he will step up. He also lets me rub his tummy most but not all of the time. He usually won't let me in the afternoon but will early morning and evening hours. Tomorrow I am going to try to get him to eat out of my hand. Oh also I had the tv on so could not hear clearly but I thought I heard him make the kiss noise I make when I talk to him.

Ace is such a cutie! Sounds like you are making progress with him, hopefully you can hear the kissy sound next time:)

Thank you Terry. I hope so too. I forgot to mention that I think he had 2 pin feathers on his head.

Ace is a beautiful little guy! You have made excellent progress for him to step up and let you give him belly rubs. Too sweet, good for you.

Ace out of cage and in my lap. Once when I went to get him he squacked at me but he did not bite me.

Ps he came out on his own. For a clipped bird he sure gets around. 15 feet over and 8 feet up.

He will step up on command both in and out of cage but when I try to walk away from cage with him he flies right back to cage.

That's normal that he flies back to his cage because that's where he feels safe. Keep taking things slowly and step by step he will let you take him further and further. You're making great progress!! Great job, I know it takes a lot of patience but keep doing it and it will pay off!

Ace has started playing with his toys, and vocalizing more. I make kind of a clicking sound with my youngest and he mimics that and the kiss sound. He also chirps, screeches then chirps. Still not a lot but more often.

Good to hear Ace has started playing and vocalizing more. That shows he's comfortable now :). Male budgies (like my Twigs and his late friend) are so vocal once they get confident. Especially once mature. He was my first budgie, and wow was I surprised how noisy they can be, and loud for their size when they have a screaming fit! They're adorable and so funny though. One day, I'd like to get Twigs another friend of his own kind.
