Polly...female
Double yellow headed Amazon
I know that Polly (don't blame me for that name) is a female but I have no idea how old she is. From articles I've read about the green and yellow on the head I think she might be about 15. What does anybody else think? Any thoughts on the subject?

There is no sure way for anyone to define the exact age of any member of the Amazona Species. Yes DYH Amazons tend to increase the amount of yellow on the head, neck and cheeks. But there are huge variations among the sub-species (2) within the family and just to add to it: individuals.

Our 22 year old DYH Male does not have as much yellow on the deep neck as yours, but fully yellow on the cheeks. Close friends 45+ year old Female has much less yellow than yours or my DYH.

Great phots of your sweetheart!
