Air Purifier

I’ve also ordered these. I’ve only had these screens installed for 2 weeks so I haven’t been able to gather an opinion. This spring I left my patio door, and windows open when it was windy. There was a green dust all over my counter tops, floor, above my kitchen cabinets. Nico (Ekkie) and I sneezed for days. It’s fairly windy where I am at, and I like fresh air at times. I have 2 dogs, 4 parrots, and a husband. If my house is closed up all the time it begins to smell bad in my house.

That's a great price. We don't sell that model at Lowes. I have 4 Honeywell air purifiers that I've had for about 7 years and I'm really happy with them but I need another one for the new addition on my house so maybe I'll try the Shark.

I don't understand how you never have to change the Shark's prefilter. What happens to all the dander and debris that collects? My prefilters collect so much stuff that I need to vacuum them every couple weeks. I live on a dusty dirt road and have 20 budgies. I only change the HEPA filters a few times a year. Most of the dust and bird dander gets trapped on the prefilter. When I do have to replace the prefilters and HEPA filters I buy generic ones on Amazon instead of Honeywell's. Each one of my units has 3 HEPA cartridges so replacing 12 of them would cost way more than I'm willing to spend.

So it has little panels on the sides you just take out and rinse. I think eventually you do have to replace the HEPA filter. But I’ve had mine for quite a bit now and haven’t had to change it yet.

That's not much different from what I do with my Honeywells. I take out the prefilter which is a large flat square of black filter material, vacuum it off, and put it back in. I could wash it too but vacuuming gets almost all the dust off it.
