Hi everyone. I decided to keep air quality good in my house for both humans and birds to buy a air purifier. I bought it from a bird supplier company in uk. It says that it works by using electrostatic filtration system. I then read in places that only HEPA ones are safe. I have not yet used it other than just to test that it works. Is this safe to use with my birds? It is by a company called trion.

I'm not sure if this is what you have or not (sounds like it, though) but do NOT use ionic air cleansers around birds. they have caused some avian deaths and health issues in people. Do you have a bird society in the UK you could ask for recommendations? I bought a whole house HEPA air filter that sits in my kitchen. It's rated for 1500 sq ft. Our house is just under that. It's bird safe and keeps dust and dander down and it's rated to clean fumes out of the air too. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. The one we have is made by a US company and it's called the Austin Air Health Mate. It seems to come highly recommended by bird people here in the US.

If possible I'd find a UK-centric site of bird people to ask. (Assuming you're in the UK anyway, I'm not sure where you are.)

We have a furnace with a hepa air filter built in because of my asthma. It mostly keeps the air clean.
