Poaching for pet trade supply is how conure populations dwindled in my parents' native Guyana! Obtain your companion only from legitimate, certified breeders. That picture was heart-breaking to see.

to add importantly, do not buy from these people to "rescue" the birds. It's horrible to see them in these situations but doing so gives these people money and reason to keep doing it
