Alternative sources of protein - Hahn's Macaw

Hello!

Our Hahn's Macaw is roughly 6 months old and eating like a raptor, and I've been debating on whether or not we should have her try eating some sort of insect. If so, what would you recommend as a reasonable option, maybe mealworms? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

it’s definitely not necessary. And given the risk of atherosclerosis, not worth it. Just focus on plant based protein (legumes, quinoa, to name a few). That will be more than enough protein.

Scrambled eggs are good. And a few high quality nuts, walnuts, pistachio. I feed boiled chicken tiny portion once in awhile. With the molt going on my Quaker Neptune is craving protein. He stole a piece of steak from me the other day! I don't recommend that though! I gave him some hard boiled egg today, normally he doesn't care for it. But he gobbled it up today
