So, after the bite Ely gave me earlier I tossed on a band-aid to stop the bleeding. The thing I am now realizing, is that all 3 of our flock think that they need to rip the band-aid off. And since it isn't skin, they aren't as gentle.

Anyway, it's making it very hard to use band-aids effectively, so I was wondering if anyone else had any better suggestions. I was thinking maybe liquid bandages would be less visible, and therefor less of a target but I don't know anything about how safe it would be around the birds if they try biting it off as well.

Thanks!

Keep that part of your body away from your Parrots until it heals enough that a bandaid is no longer needed. After that, you will need to keep your Parrots away from that part of your body to keep them from ripping off the scab! It is the way it is; No Parrots Near that area!

Unfortunately I don't know of any effective way to cover a bite injury AND keep it off a bird's radar. They are such keen observers and will immediately notice and want to "groom" you!

Hand and arm bites are the most common, and we use that part of the body to interact. Frankly, I remove the bandaid once a scab has formed and gently move the beak away when the wound is noticed and sternly say "NO!" Takes a bit of repetition but they get the message.

There are some band aids that are really tough to remove. That's all I got, sorry.

Sometimes I get the answer I want, sometimes the answer I want simply doesn't exist though, not your fault. Unless you are a top secret band-aid engineer in your spare time and are holding out on me..... :D

Ow the little blighters don't want to give you chance to heal do they?

Are you in the market for body armour? LOL

You might try New Skin, which is a liquid bandage that dries clear over a wound.
