BF Amazon
Hello everyone!

I will hopefully be adding a BF Amazon to my life soon and am trying to pick a good quality cage for him/her. Through all my research it seems like Kings Cages has a really good reputation for being high quality, long lasting, safe, and let's not forget pricey! I'm currently looking at their aluminum cages, but the largest they offer is 33x25x51 (32" inside height from bottom grill to the top of the cage). Will that be big enough for an Amazon? If not could you please give me some recommendations for a good quality cage that you have used first hand?

Thanks!
Blake

Sounds like a good sized cage to me! I wouldn't really house an amazon in anything smaller than that.... at least not smaller by much!

Kings says the recommendation is for cockatiels to small cockatoos.... so... how big of an amazon are we talking about? :D

Blue fronts come in different sizes... it would be easier if you could see the amazon and the cage at the same time to decide if it would be an ok size or not.

haha he's just a baby! He was born in early June. I've been visiting him weekly! I just want to make sure the cage I get him will be big enough longterm.

If you already know how big he is, then you could try measuring out the space the cage will take up where-ever you plan on keeping it and lay out books or other items for where the cage would be. That would give you a general idea of the floor space.... and if you have room for a larger cage, then by all means, get a bigger one!

I have a YN in a 40"x30" and it's plenty big enough for him. Sometimes I wonder if I went too big because he doesn't use the bottom at all.

I'd think that would be fine for a BFA. If he's anything like mine ,they don't spend much time in it,LOL.

the cage you mentioned is fine for a BF. (:

I believe the cage should be ok... but I personally spoil the hell out of my companions. My lone Quaker is in a cage that size by himself. LOL. And for those wondering... No.. He has no aggression issues. Almost anyone can walk up to his cage without him getting mad, and he uses the entire cage when he is playing. Plus... with him being fully flighted, i feel its plenty of room for him to move around a bit.

Back to the subject... I think you should be ok. If you wanted to go a little bigger, that would not hurt either. GL :)

Great looking cage! I agree, I think it would be fine.
