Hi nice people here,

I am F13 from Singapore and I used to be part of a parrot rehoming group for these wonderful but often badly misunderstood feathered friends. I specialized in behaviour rehab in Zons before rehoming them to good homes. However, I am forced to give up this hobby 7 years ago due to overseas work commitments.

After stabilizing my career these few years, I have been itching to enter the Amazonian Realm again. Destiny hit me recently as I came across a 10 mths old YNA with a missing toe that gave me that "Zooooon" look at first sight. Gotten it at a good price as I knew the shopkeeper and I intend to bring my bonding with this new friend to a new level.

It's been a week now and my buddy (Zoro) has been trained to step up and say "Hello" and Whistles upon cue. Nice to learn that there is this big community of parrot lovers and would like to learn more from our friends here.

Hobbies - Cars, Jogging, Parrots, TCM.

Cheers!!! :green::cool:

Welcome F13!! Happy to have you on the forums.

It is wonderful you took in a special needs Zon, tho I am guessing he doesn't see himself that way. Sounds like what he is missing in that toe he more then makes up for in Zon smarts!

Post pics if you get a chance, we all love to see everyone's babies.

Hello and welcome! So excited for you that Zoro is doing so well in only a week! Sounds like it was meant to be that you two found each other:)
Looking forward to hearing more about him and seeing some pictures!

Thanks Jenphilly,

Yes indeed and I take special interests in birds with issues as the perfect ones are well sought after and often well taken care of.

Zoro definitely makes up for his missing toe with his mischievous character. I was greeted by a pleasant surprise ytd after a tough day of work with him mimicking the siren of an ambulance...He really made my day as my whole family rolled in laughter...

I love the birds that pick up and mimic sounds on their own!! Funniest thing and you always have to wonder, when did you learn that!!??

Share videos when you have time too, we would enjoy hearing as well as seeing him! Sounds like a very special guy, so happy you were able to find him and give him all the love he needs to just blossom into a happy, silly and curious bird!!

Thanks Terry57! Yeah I am looking forward to bringing my bond with Zoro to a new level and then moving on to do charity work to help those in need.

Welcome to the forum!!! :)

Zoro sounds like he's fitting in just fine with you! Congrats on bringing him home. :)

Thanks MikeyTN!
Avatar updated with Zoro & Bubbles.

Bubbles was found by my brother sprayed out listlessly in a cat infested region around his estate. He quickly brought it to me and it has recovered from it's ordeal 1 week under intensive care. I guessed some owner must have lost it after forgetting to clip the wings. Lucky Bubbles...It could have become a exotic meal for the cats.

Bubbles is such a glutton and chewed up almost anything I put into the food dish. It's favourite trick is to swing around in his swing and bob it's head along with it.

That's all I have for my current flock.
:)

Welcome to the forum F13, Congrats on Zorro :) Sounds like you'll do great with him with all your experience!

I can't wait to see pics also of both your babies... Is Bubbles a Yellow Faced Parrotlet? I'm looking ar your avatar pic. I'm not sure if we have YFP in the US. :)

Hey RavensGryf, Bubbles does look like YFP. Not really experienced in Parrotlet though...It seems young and the colours are not really distinct. However, it's bite is not much less vicious than Zons when you intrude into it's space...Haha.

Love your avitar of Zoro and Bubbles!!!! Rescuing birds is a wonderful thing to do! ;)

For those into this hobby, I am always available to chit chat...:D

Buddy - The BFA with the most vicious bite that I have tamed and rehomed in 2005.
