Kazi - 13 yr old yellow nape amazon rescue
I was up at the rescue today and noticed that our sun conure has decided her nanday buddy wasn't good enough anymore and had snuggled up to one of the 'zons there. It was so cute I had to snap a quick pic with my phone.

I also fell in love with our two new arrivals - the biggest CAG I've ever seen in my life and a young yellow nape who was the sweetest thing I've ever met. They both just wanted cuddles and head scratches. I wanted to bring them both home, but I like being married.

Awwwww. That is the sweetest thing I have ever seen! How precious.

That is simply beautiful. I love how the Sun is all fluffed up and eyes closed!

That is unbelievably sweet. Rowdy and Pete are both giving off signs that they would like to be together. I've been reluctant knowing Pete could hurt Rowdy badly. Maybe I'll let them see each other through the bars up close and see how it goes. They imitate each other, one hanging upside down, and then the other doing it back.

AWWWWW could you just imagine the friendship. How cute.

Having kept lots of birds of differing species at same time, I have seen several interspecial bondings. Sometimes it's an odd match. But, you always have to be careful. Different sized birds can hurt each other easily. Introductions should be gradual, and at the birds' own pace. Right now, I have a lovebird that absolutely loves my cockatiel. He will not leave her alone. Before my older white 'tiel died, the brown cockatiel would go to him because then the lovebird would back off. But, he's gone now, and she'll have to deal with the lovebird on her own. I help by giving them some seperate out of cage times. But, all my birds get along well together, and it has always been so.

I noticed that was an OWA , they seem to be the most tolerate of the zons. I visited the Oasis Sanctuary in Az several years ago, they had tons of plucked toos and macaws in with OWAs because the birds needed a companion and the OWAs where so adaptable and tolerant.Cage after cage had toos and macaws paired with zons ,mostly OWAs. I have lots of OWAs and except for the breeder birds they all get along with other birds, something i can't say about YNs or DYHs.

That's adorable! My DYHA and Blackheaded Caique are best buds and share a cage. Although my Blackheaded Caique takes advantage of the Zon and will steal the Zon's food!

Such a cute pic, thank you for sharing!!!
