I've had people react like this when one of my budgies flies over to say hello. My nephew's wife is terrified of birds, any birds, flying near her head. Apparently she was chased by a Canada Goose when she was two years old and never got over it. I kinda get being afraid of a goose or a large parrot, but a friendly little 40 gram budgie? Oh, well.
