Yellow Sided GCC Oliver (October 2009), and a Cinnamon GCC Mia (August 2013)
Hi guys! I've never posted on this forum before but I've been trying to get some info from here about this cage. Can't find all that much though.

I have a yellow sided green cheek conure that I've had for about 3 1/2 years now. He's been in a hand me down HQ Flight Cage (HQ Flight Bird Cage - Presented by BirdsComfort.com) for this whole time. It's a great cage but I kind of feel like upgrading and plus am looking to get a second bird soonish.

So! Someone in my area has posted a medium sized A&E Corner aviary (AE Medium Corner Aviary - Presented by BirdsComfort.com) still in box and unused for $250 OBO which seems like a great deal, especially if he'll go down a bit more. But I really wish there were more reviews. If any one has experience with this cage or pictures I would appreciate it so so much!

On the other hand the cage I have may be fine but I like the idea of getting my conure Oliver a bigger space.

Thanks for reading! (also I just posted under the conures species with pictures of Oliver if you're interested!)

Hello Sofiaee - welcome to the forums. I originally wanted an A&E large corner cage for my Macaws, but I was told that due to the dual trays that slide out on the bottom the mess is harder to clean and that the cage in general was a little bit more difficult to clean. That being said I was told they are still great cages. It was my breeder who gave me the advice - she is an A&E wholesaler she could get me any A&E cage for cost so she had nothing to gain or lose by which one I picked.

Hmmm, well do you know how much more difficult it is to clean? But I'm not really sure what dual trays look like so I'm a little confused?

Thanks for the reply!

Because of the shape of the bottom of the cage, there are two side by side trays that slide out instead of one. Sometimes, food and droppings can fall between the trays. She basically told me that she finds them hard to clean than regular cages. Unfortunately I cant expand on that. The dual trays on the bottom where enough to convince me so our conversation did not go any further concerning corner cages.

Ah I see! Well considering that Oliver is great at throwing things out of his cage anyways I'm not really bothered my extra vacuuming or anything but that is really good to know.

I have to agree with you there. I am almost amazed at how much I find behind and underneath the cages. That's why I bought one of those plastic sheets that go under office chairs that are difficult to roll on carpet. They help to keep the rugs free of any droppings.

I was actually thinking of getting one of those!

One other issue I'm having about this corner cage though is that a lot of the corners in the room I was planning on having him stay in are a little dark and that just seems kind of depressing. But then again I need to take the measurements and see how far it would actually come out of the corner to judge.

As everyone says you would be surprised at the mess you find behind a cage. While I never used this cage I will say the cage comes across as a economically sound cage if you wanted to start an indoor aviary for small birds. I partly wonder if it could be considered a good cage for someone that wanted pet doves. The link prices it at 239 dollars. I will end by stating adding a second bird could go anyway. They can hate each others guts and therefore making it not a good idea to house them together or they can decide not to have anything to do with you.

Oh gosh eating guts! That sounds terrible! Haha well I wasn't really planning on having them housed in the same cage, I meant to use the old cage for the second bird. But I talked to the person on craigslist and they'll give it to me for $200 so it seems like a deal I can't pass up! I wont be able to pick it up till august 5th however but I will let everyone know how I like it.

Haha, I can not believe I made that typing mistake. I look forward to hearing how you like the cage.
