Hey, folks does anyone here know about any good breeders of Mealy’s? I would appreciate if anyone could point me to any reputable breeders of Mealy’s. I know Windycity, Royal Bird company and Avalon doesn't breed Mealy’s anymore. I know this species is getting rarer every year with fewer and fewer babies available in the USA.

And, what babies are available are becoming very expensive.

The good Breeders have gotten out of breading Mealy's because the demand has fallen as they are not a "must Have Parrot." Those I knew have gone out of the business.

Open your score of interest and try looking for a Parrot that "Wants You!" You will find they are much better at choose a Human than Humans are at choosing a Parrot. After all Humans get way into the I WANT thing.

Have to agree with Sailboat. Nothing better than being the chosen one. I have my YNA Baxter, not because I was looking for, or even considering a second bird, but entirely because she decided that it needed to be. Her bond with me is something truly special. So glad I listened to her, and gave in to her demands! :)

I did the same with my GCC, unfortunately she passed away. Hence, I was kinda looking for a Mealy.

Thanks again.

I know, I always believed let the Bird choose you. As I did with the GCC, Maynha, and my Rescued CAG. Unfortunately, can't do that with the Mealy's. Let's see what happens with the lookout. As I build my outdoor aviary in the next summer in NYC. I mean I still drive back and forth from NYC to VA for my CAG vets. He has been seen by the vet in Fairfax for the last 7 or so years when I used to live in Northern Virginia.

I totally understand wanting a Mealy or Orange Winged. Usually, totally mellow birds, and sociable with everyone. Not one person birds.
