'll try to keep this short, and add details if anyone's interested.

We got a beautiful peach-faced lovebird (Saffron) back in February. He bonded to us very well, always hanging out with me and my wife when he was out of his cage, eating comfortably out of our hands, letting us scratch him and ... But both my wife and I have long work days and he was alone in his cage for long hours of time and let out for ~30min/day.

Last month, we decided to get another lovebird with the hope that they would bond together, and he wouldn't be lonely. We got a 5 week old lovebird (Mint) and even after 2 weeks of being in side by side cages, our 7 month old Saffron wants absolutely nothing to do with Mint. He will avoid him when they're both out of the cage even though Mint wants to socialize with him, but Saffron will nip at Mint's feet if he gets too close.

Any suggestions on how to encourage their bonding? Should we ignore them both so they're "forced" to socialized with each other once they get lonely enough?

Thanks for the help guys!

A candle-lit dinner with some nice jazz music might spike some interest between the two!
Thanks
