I am looking to play a good game of pass the birdie with people that are used to handling birds. I am hoping to socialize Kyleigh, my blue and gold, and Conure West, my nanday conure, a bit more. Obviously I am willing to make the drive lol.

Great idea, Stephen!! :) You know, you could also create a Social Group on this forum, with people specific to your neck of the woods. ;)

Ohhh too bad I'm not closer! Playing pass the macaws around is a favorite game at the shelter....we have a lot to pass around at one time too....no person without a macaw when that game happens!

Sounds like we might need to have one too Wendy. :D

YEP. WE DID A LOT OF THAT STUFF TOO... That's a very useful game to play.

Works like a charm most of the time, and they love being pampered by everyone.

I so want to find something like this in the Portland, OR area....

I think Kiwibird is in the Portland area.

Yeah, I think she gave me a food dehydrator...I need to see if I can get some type of greet going...I would love to socialize my guy more now that its not nice out and I can't take advantage of using the neighborhood rif raf to socialize him.

I'm four hours away from DFW and that's a bit of a drive! Too bad because I would love spending time around another parrot lover and their birds, especially a macaw. My flock could use the socialization too, especially my Amazon. If we're ever headed to that area of Texas I'll have to PM you and see about a parrot playdate!

Where are you in relation to San Antonio?!

I might know someplace where there are a couple of macaws, and a few other amazons to play with...

I'm from San Angelo, TX and I think San Antonio is about 3 hours away. Granted everything in Texas is pretty spread out so we're used to road trips! I would love getting a chance to meet your birds :) One day when I have my own home instead of renting I plan to adopt a macaw, but that's way in the future for now. I don't know many local "parrot people" and none of them own large birds.

Mallory!!! I'll be in San Angelo this summer!!!!! I have lots of birds that need socialization!!!!!

Maybe we can meet up with StephenandKyleigh too!

When you all get settled in maybe we'll plan a road trip...

My birds actually LOVE the car. (I just need one that isn't about to blow up. Like mine is now!)

Yaaaaaaaaaay that would be awesome! You'd get to meet rio!!!! :)
Who btw I'd still not weaned! Lol. 9 months now. Yikes! He's just milkin it!

Not at all uncommon for a big mac... at this point it's more about bonding and emotional comfort than the food though.

Yeah he's just a big ol spoiled brat. :)
He can have his nightly feed as long as he wants it.
