Hi all,

I am off to meet and possibly adopt a bare-eyed cokcatoo tomorrow. I've seen pics and he is just beautiful. They think he(Harley) will be a good match for us because he is really sweet, and goes to anyone...(I have 3 kids)

So, my question is, anyone here have a bare-eyed cockatoo?

sorry no cockatoo here but good luck and i hope it all goes well :)

Hello Kim.
Yes, I have a bare eyed. I have had her for 11 years now and I love her so much. She is a little demanding at times but its a labor of love.
Let me know if you have any questions.

OMG! I don't have one but the bird farm I go to has one! Her name is Cheri, she is hilarious! I would agree with feathers she is demanding but that is because she LOVES everyone! She asks "what are you doing?" all the time. When they have her out in the aviary she flies on everyones shoulders then just try to get her off! There are signs everywhere about watching your jewelry, glasses etc. I love her!

Yes, I have one. Her name is Cory... I initially thought she was a boy... I adopted her some years back... The owner was afraid of her... She in a large walk-in aviary on my back patio with her friend Echo, a Galah or rose breasted cockatoo. Same story - the owner was afraid of her...

Both these bird are so gentle (and have been from the day I got them) - The only problem I have with them is that they won't get off me, when I ready to leave the aviary... lol

Lene, sounds like your birds love you very much.

I don't really know if they love ME or the food I bring... I'm guessing the latter.

I have no idea if this is the way to say it... :o

you said it right.
They do love their food but you companionship is No. 1.

Hey Kim, I care for a bare-eyed. I would love to hear if you ended up adopting him, and how things are going!
