Is a 24” long, 24” wide and 66” tall cage a good cage for a conure? Specifically Jenday conures? The cage/aviary has a non-removable roof too, would that be a problem?

I think at least 32 long if not 34 long or more, my opinion 24 is not long enough. Longer is much better than taller....

I totally agree with Laurasea - 32 width is probably better. None of my conures really use the height of the cage, so I would aim for more width. The roof not opening is not an issue - you can get play top or just bars across the top, both are good. Mine like having the horizontal space to flap and play.

Alright I figured it’d be too small but I wasn’t sure. Do any of you have any recommendations on what cage is most suitable for a conure? Maybe send a link from amazon or something?

I’d definitely agree that 24” length is too small. My birds don’t use the bottom half of their cages very much, so a lot of the height is wasted. Length/width is much more important than height when it comes to cages.

This is my GCC Kermit’s cage:

The cage is 32” long, 23” deep, and 65” tall (40” height without the stand). It is a great size for conures, and it is very sturdy and well built. It has a dome top with a platform door that most birds love to sit on.

That is a great cage too! I have the A&E flight cage for Ducky, which is very similar to the HQ version. Would be great for a Jenday.

This looks wonderful! I had a cage with the wing seed gsurd before and it really healped with the mess!!!

I agree, not large enough, especially for a Jenday/Sun/Nanday Conure...As stated above, the "flight-cages" are good choices...Amazon.com sells a huge flight cage for $100, and a double version of it for $200. Or if you don't want a flight cage, go for something with a width of at the very least 32-34" and similar depth.
