Two Cockatiels: Rascal (Geraldine) and his baby brother named Coconut!
Coconut just had a shower with me (I let water bounce of me and he bathed) he LOVES it but afterwards I noticed he has a bare spot on each side of his wings. I assume this is normal and that I only noticed it because his feathers are wet and that those areas on his wings don't grow feathers?

I feel stupid for posting this but I've never seen this on Rascal before (only on Coconut) after he bathes so that's why I'm wondering because it looks a little weird. You have to enlarge pic to really see it.

I don't know with 100%certainty, but I think that's normal. I've seen some bald spots at bath time.

I couldn't get the pictures to load, but if it's what I'm thinking, it's normal. Both my Ekkie and Sun have them after a shower. If you feel the bald patches, are they raised and sort if bony feeling? If they are, that's normal.

Yes! They are almost pointy... bony feeling. The left wing has the exact same as the right wing... so this makes me feel as though it's normal. It just looks scary when you look at it up close because it looks red and some parts of it are solid whitish color (as if I was looking at bone)... if you enlarge the first pic you can see the whitish area (looks like silicone actually) I'm referring to right above the reddish area. I think it's normal :)

Do the images still not load for you?? That's not good... guess I won't be using www.postimage.org anymore to upload pics then... does below image load?

The last image loaded for me, it could be because I'm on my phone too. Yea, that's what my birds look like after a shower, so I wouldn't worry.

Great that's good news... I never noticed that before other than on Coconut and Rascal bathes often. Good to hear it's normal :D

Juliet...I agree with Cheryl and the others..Amy looks something like that at times, especially after a good soaking..I wouldn't worry my friend.
