i know how it feels when they fly to attack you etc clipping would be good, but i think carrying the stick you use to move her about would be good as well,
as in when she attacks hold stick out, so she has 2 choices land on stick or turn away, also in doing that you are standing up to her!
if she goes for the land on stick option, have your other hand protecting your face, and feel free to tell her NO!!!
not sure when they are hormonal, nuts always biting me more when she is hormonal, over xmas, so i leave her be during them months as in have little to do with her, then like now she's a really loving (well less bitey)
also one of my tactics which seemed to work the best was increased cage time for the nut! so instead of being out all day, she was out 1hr in the am and about 2/3 hours at night, stuck to a routine, and i had results within the week, we still stick to this caging loosely, now, because when she was out of her cage all day, she use to do things like a naughty child would when bored, get told no, then she'd rebel, so maybe invest in a big cage, craigslist/ebay
and thank you for taking on this bird and putting up with its rather selfish and ungrateful behaviour! cos there's been many a moments i've seriously considered giving the nut back to my brother, but once you hit that happy medium, it becomes plain sailing an worth all the ducking
