Scudders Parrot Depot -

Scudders Parrot depot is an allegedly awful place that allegedly kills and breeds birds.

They allegedly are a bird farm with allegedly over 800 birds living in shotty conditions.

I would like to share old articles with you.

Here are some articles talking about it.

WAIT WAIT WAIT .... SOMEONE WANTS TO SCREW WITH REDFRONTS ... that's not cool ... there are only a few people who should be breeding RFMs ... and WENDY is one of them ... not this hell hole!

OMG, I can think of a few people who should be breeding RFM's but this place is definately not one of them.

I am putting this info out there for all of you to read. I will be coming back later on this subject with more info and hopefully emails and/or somethig to sign and send the message to washington state Gov. that this is unacceptable and that places like this need to be shut down and that our laws need to change where parrots are concerned.

I'm with ya on this one all the way.

Wait a second ... let them get RFMs ... then I will make a trip to Washington State (which Christy and I have wanted to do for a while now) and I will rescue them ... along with the others ... and then we could get them to the right places ... and all I ask in return is for one baby! :07::07:

Oh, wait, is that a bad idea?

Heartbreaking. Nothing more to say. We need to do what we can to help these birds.

I would love the help.

If any of you are interested PLEASE call, write and email all of the people I listed and share your concerns with them. Maybe if they get flooded with tons and tons of calls and letters they will actually do something.

I encourage other countries to join in.... I think these birds need all the help they can get...

I find with this kind of thing being a pain in their butt is the most effective .. that and going to the mainstream press ;)

Well I'm in the UK, and I'll definately be writing :D

That link about the RFM and some others don't work for me!I tried them yesterday as well but no chance to open that page...:(

Rock...and everyone; it's gratifying to read that there is still interest in this most infamous of bird mills in the Pacific Northwest. I''ve actually joined this forum after someone passed along a link to me showing this particular thread.

I'm posting now mainly to give an update that there is new content on parrotprotection.org; you can access the new article through a notice board in the left margin of the website from the home page. The article deals primarily with last Tuesday, August 21's, Pierce County Council mtg and the events that unfolded there regarding the Aviculture Advisory Committee. Bob Vincent ( of Scudder Parrot Depot ) with Councilman Muri were the primary ringleaders of this particular circus.

Rock, a couple words of caution, and please don't take offense. Vincent of Scudder's and those that operate in the same fashion and are his allies scan public forums such as this one. If you have any real evidence that's not just the old news rehashed over and over on the internet, great....use it wisely, communicate privately, but do NOT publish your intentions on a publish forum.

Please do be careful that what you do say is accurate and up to date. The information you quoted about the Scarlet's was from an article in parrotprotection.org, regarding a meeting that took place on July 24, 2006. To my knowledge, Vincent is no longer pursuing these endeavors. He has gone into a pet shop business with Krista Villa and Martha Scudder, though recent scuddlebutt has it that Martha is either getting out or is out ( Bobby latching onto a new bird lady? Dunno yet ). Having just joined this forum, although if I listed the name of their business it certainly wouldn't be for advertising purposes, I don't want to risk being admonished on my first day! You can find the information easily enough through an online search. A hint...parrots. Krista's last name :) It's in Spanaway. Am I in trouble yet? They sell baby birds online that they call "new product"...'nuff said.

I will say that a reliable source has informed me that Bob and Martha have cleaned up that ****hole drastically, that it is in the best shape it's been in years. My opinion is that this is because Bob is vying for a position on the PC council's advisory commission; Scudder's has scrambled to clean up for various reasons over the years....it has never lasted. This is a combination of my opinion and years of documentation....I refer you again to parrotprotection.org.

Rock ( and others ), if you do have new, solid information, by all means pursue it. And let me know how to contact you. Thanks. Righter.

I have reason to belive that Chewy came from scudders. SCudders is a horrible place. The reson why I believe that he did, is because They won't tell me wh ere he came from and wast "Horrified" that I was asking if he came from them.
Chewy almost died, along with other birdst hat I know th at came from Scudders. He now has a heart condition and I can't get him to wild up for fear that he will die on me from a heart attack.
Do I regret getting him. Hell yeah. But woudl I give him up for the world Hell no. I love him to death. I just wish I had had a heads up before I got him. *sigh* Now I have to live with the knowledge that my baby will more then likely die of a heart attack sometime. And I will never know when or why.
Just watch out for those birds
I don't care if scudders sees this. I think they need to know what damage they are doing .

Just popping in briefly again to let those of you who are interested know that there is again new content on parrotprotection.org

For those of you that have been following the aviary licensing issue in Pierce County, WA, there is a lot of good infomation in this OpEd piece, the reader responses, and the editor's commentary. Rock, thanks for posting to TNT; your excellent comments have been preserved on parrotprotection.org. TNT's policy is to drop off comments after 2 weeks, though they don't always clean up that quickly. The editors of parrotprotection.org had to be fair and post all of the comments, but the readers of the site will obviously know which ones are in line with the thinking of the owners of that site.

Even folks that haven't been following these events should find them interesting, though chilling. It's amazing that this type of corruption ( and the rest of what is discussed in the site ) has gone on so long unchecked in this day and age...but that's apparently life in Pierce County.

A quick note on my earlier caution about posting intentions publicly. Chewy, you said you wanted Scudder(s) to know what they caused if your bird came from there. My personal opinion is they don't care, as long as they've made their sale, but my caution wasn't for that kind of comment. Sure, let them know....can't hurt.

It Has Not Changed; I am a neighbor of them; They have another mean tempered Old English/Pyr. Puppy Miller living there and her biker husband who breeds goats and mixed breed puppies for added income ( and who were evicted from their last property) ; The Scudders still live in squalor and the home is so rodent infested that the place is rank from fecies and sour grains. The ramshackled bird shelters are filthy with stale grains and strings of bird droppings hainging from the bottom of the cages. The fellas at the fire department in Roy say its a ticking time bomb from the rodents chewing thru all the wiring just ready to ignight as the 2 story home is chewed to hell.

Well the original post to this thread was about 3 years ago, so I guess that time bombs still a tickin'...............
