I have a female BE named Aerial I have had for almost a year since.she was weaned. I made sure she was partially parent raised as well as fully fledged. I keep her in a 42x20x70 cage that all her perches are rearranged every week as well as toys. Pellet diet with fresh vegs daily and seed every week to 10 days.
I tell you how she is kept so you will more understand the responsibility she is. There is NEVER a dull moment when you are home. With all her toys and things to climb she will contact call for 10 minutes when she see's me if I don't let her out. Absolutely loves to be on me but not a big it cuddler. She will allow it but not big on it. Loves a shower with me and will get under a full stream then stand to be blow dried.
She is fully flighted and can spin on a dime, turn around and land on that dime. She can not be left alone for 3 seconds or she is in trouble. Plays fetch with plastic bottle caps and loves to destroy pine cones and small limbs. Eats at the table with us every night of what ever is good for her from our plates.
If it sounds like a lot of work it is BUT I love her and caring for her. I have been around unberella Too's and she has three times the energy of one. Do your homework well as I wouldn't suggest a BE for most people. If you have the time and room they are wonderful birds but not one to sot in a cage and admire.
