I thought forum visitors might be interested in seeing an article about the bike rides Barney our Yellow Naped and I do.

Jim Stingl - All this parrot has to say is 'Thanks for the ride'

A lady saw us on a bike trail and contacted the paper and they tracked us down for the article.

Great story! I have been thinking about doing something along these lines with my guys. I was going to do a front mount bike rack with a small wire dog crate bungeed to it. For my mac I was looking at a bike trailer I have and pulling the fabric off from it and replacing all that with a large wire dog crate. Thanks for posting your story. I will stop questioning my sanity and go for it!

I bike with my 2 little GCCs! I have a black wire mesh basket mounted on the front of my bike, with a piece of screen over the top, and a bungie cord keeping it closed. I put a towel in there and a little perch, but mostly they cling to the sides looking out! They SEEM to like it, and it gives them a good dose of sunshine and fresh air. For me too!

What a great way for Barney to get his vitamin D!

I take our Franklin (Green cheek conure) and our Pigeon, Belle out from time with their flight suit...we also get a TON of attention on our outings
