Bat Bird????

Ok so my parakeet, Lilly has this strange behavior. Every night at exactly 9:00 PM lilly goes upside down in her cage. She hangs from the bars and sits their. if you try to touch her when shes upside down she gets very agressive. I dont understand her!!!

Anyone know what it means???

Hi Sarah, what kind of parakeet is Lilly,

I ask as I have two Linnies, who love to hang upside down, in fact I think they spend most of their time that way. Even when they are on their perches they try to hang upside down to sleep, its really quite funny.

She is a blue and white budgie. It is really funny and no one can explain it!!! Also, she only does it at 9:00 PM!~!!!

Have to say I've never heard of a budgie doing this before, and only at 9.00 :20: Maybe she just doesn't want to go to bed, and thats here way of trying to get you to get her out again. lol Well I guess if she's happy hanging upside down like a bat then thats fine. Would love to see pics of this. She sounds such a character.

Yeah, she sure is a character! I will get pics next time she does it!!! She is beautiful...the prettiest out of her siblings. She is a chatterbox, at 2:00pm she is chattering away at the birds outside. Once a bird came into an open window trying to find lilly! it was hilarious!!!!

Does she seem healthy and happy otherwise?

I wouldn't worry to much about it, it seems to be something she really enjoys doing and as long as she is heathy and happy then thats okay. She is just a real character. I know Bucc will do things but as soon as I go to take a picture he stops and just sits there. lol.

She seems VERY happy when she does it. She chirps and sings so loud and she lets us pet her toes!! She is so cute when she does it. I will continue trying to take the pic, maybe she will, maybe not... Hopfully yes.

She's happy when she does this so I wouldn't worry to much about it.
