Bathing question

Pilaf, sounds like he enjoys a nice bath. Echo has really opened up to you, good to see he's being a nice feather doggo. Just keep an eye on him when having a bath, they're not exactly the best swimmers. Rio actually spoke for the first time when I had a bath with a "what you doing?" which blew me away as it was his first words in context as he never saw me in the bathtub before

Yeah it's going really well with Echo. It made him really relaxed to sit with me in the bathtub. How cool that Rio spoke for the first time when you had a bath with him. Did you teach him those words? Or did they just come out spontaneously?

he learnt it on his own. I'd say it a lot cause I'd find him doing something silly. It was hard to figure it out at first but you can hear it.

He also learnt to say "thank you" cause I showed him videos of Marnie the ringneck who says thank you a lot. He also learnt "night night" cause I would say it whenever I put him to bed. This was all done within the 5 weeks I had him and like I say he wasn't interacted with as a baby at all, only experience with humans he had was a netting, then later a grab from a glove and then he was home with me. I swear he was better behaved than some birds that are several years old haha! Shows you though they all learn differently and they all have a personality. He just happened to be an excitable cuddle bug, hell he was such a cuddle bug that became the name of one of our games

That is really cool. I hope Echo will start to say things as well.

This is an issue with all 3 of my birds. My Suns have that little green parakeet bath that twists on. It is ridiculous. They can bathe on body part at a time and I have to refill it about 3 times for them to get soaked. Pickles will only bathe in her water bowl. I have tried every contraption in the house, the sink, the shower, misting them. I figure it is what it is and try not to freak out over it (although they must think I'm an idiot as I never stop trying to come up with something). I would love to have a 3D printer and come up with a conure sized design.

Lord Triggs- close, but Kiwi prefers to be viewed as a goose. He honks too in addition to loving water:rolleyes: We used to live within walking distance of a pond, and I'd take him down there almost every day in the summer to watch the ducks and geese and he'd get so excited "Hey! Finally, some birds I can understand HONK HONK HONK".

They do make a parrot sized bath! https://www.amazon.com/Lixit-Animal...F8&qid=1501255925&sr=1-2&keywords=parrot+bath

I've tossed around the idea of getting one, but I somehow think it would be a waste of $50 and the tiny dish would still be preferred by Kiwi, at least. But others may have birds more willing to use an appropriate sized bird bath.
