"Please don't forget to mist my butt too, mom!" :D

Aaaand....today it is 30 degrees celcius outside (start of our winter!) and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to (a) try out the new travel cage for some sunny time and (b) try a bath outside with the lawn mister attachment on the garden hose.

The perch set up wasn't quite right for TRUE bathing bliss I noticed after a few sprinkles, so I gathered the troops (family) and had them stand around while....I let Percy out of his cage! I know he can't fly well at all with that damaged wing but there are other dangers outside too, so I was very nervous. Percy was a star and simply clambered out and to the top and sat there awaiting his bath :D

He is awesome.

I LOVE seeing Amazons enjoy their baths that much. :D

Got a really good laugh at "Please don't forget to mist my butt too, mom!" HILARIOUS!!

Don't they just glisten and glimmer in natural sunlight? :)

Thanks so much for sharing your eye candy Percy with us.

Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing Percy's bath time bliss!

Yay Percy! He looks so very happy in that last pic.

It is *so* nerve-wracking the first (and second and third lol) time they come out outside un-caged:eek: I bet Percy felt like a bada** being "loose" in the great outdoors;) I hope this is the start for many fun outdoor excursions for Percy!

He had so much fun and the way he looked around at everything was priceless! I didn't keep him in the sun long because our African sun is really harsh. As soon as he was done bathing, I returned him to the cage and moved him to dappled shade to dry off. He was so brave - even 'scarybirds' (doves, in this instance) didn't bother him beyond a perfunctory stiffening and checking if I was close by :). When he was almost dry (and I was starting to hyperventilate from the heat), I brought him inside and he carried on playing and singing on his gym. It was SO clear that he was super duper happy! :). This evening, he retired to his cage early (and of his own accord), climbed up to his sleeping perch after a few bites of dinner and went right to sleep :). He was so jolly after his outdoor excursion that he didn't have any naps today so the poor little tyke was all tuckered out ;)

Those pics made my day:) Percy looks so thrilled and happy during his bath!
I can't believe it is that hot there in the start of your winter! It is -1C (30F) today and snowing, and we are supposed to be enjoying spring here:(

I love the way they smell after a good bath. Quite addictive...lol :D Great looking feathers!

Awww such beautiful pictures. Thank you for sharing :)

Adorable. April showers bring May flowers.

Maggie gets about that happy at bathtime... it would be a toss up between these two as to who enjoyed it more.

Fun stuff!
