Hello everyone! I just noticed my male Quaker’s beak looks a bit longer than it did a few months ago. My question is how do I know when it’s too long and needs to be trimmed? He’s eating fine and it doesn’t seem to bother him, I was just curious if I should take him to the vet to get that done. Thank you!

His beak looks long. Eating, playing normally are good signs. Depending upon activity beaks and nails should be trimmed 3-6 months. This is needed life long. It's always a good idea to have an avian vet familiar with you and your bird. You'r bird is cute.

I Love your bird ❤️. So cute! His beak is definitely a little long though not terrible. My Quaker actually grinds down his own beak and nails on his nail trimming perch. I haven’t had to trim his beak or nails in the three years that I’ve had him ( got him as a senior bird). Not saying this works for everybody but it’s made things easy for us! If you do need to trim his beak manually, it would be safest to have a vet do it. Here’s the type of nail trimming perch I use; it’s smooth on top so it doesn’t hurt the soft pad of the foot:
