We are all under pressure.
And Bella senses this and has started plucking her feathers more than normal.

The potential move to the farm in Oregon is/ has become a major legal and financial problem.
My wife and I have been talking about it and brainstorming solutions over and over.
Not arguing, not raising voices but with tension thick enough to slice.
We haven’t spent this much time talking back/ forth in years.

And Bella is picking up on it.
Plus we are having work done around the house (landscaping and clean up) . We need to do a lot more work around the house whatever we end up doing (sell house and move, rent house and move, give up on Oregon and stay put)
I don’t have any ideas of how to make things easier for her.

Got appointment wit a lawyer for tomorrow. Till then I won’t know what is/ isn’t possible.
It’s a real mess.
I feel like my ultimate goal in life was just within reach and it’s been snatched away from me.

Sorry you're having problems. Does Bella like cuddles when you're having problems? Those the one and only times Nameliss allows them. She's not a plucker. But she pulls a few those times. A few long cuddles often several times a day helps. By long I mean 4 or 5 minutes CAG time. Followed by a few head scrithes with a finger warning nip later shes done. It helps the both of us. We're wishing you well.

Parrots are so incredibly sensitive to our moods and feelings! I know Salty can tell if I am making any plans to be away for an extended period, even I am careful to not discuss, or make overt actions, like packing or even downloading maps, concerning the trip!

AFA your plans, keep the faith and never give up! Sometimes the Sky Chief interviens, and sometimes not!

Bella only cuddles with my wife.
Her cuddle time has been about normal.
I think she is getting most of the stress vibes from my wife so it could be the cuddles aren’t as soothing as normal.
I wish I could discuss the details of the problem.
This is not the place.

We have made lots of trips up to Oregon for a month at a time. Bella knows what it means when the suitcase is getting packed.

She’s always managed to make do with just one servant (my son).

I’m trying to hold out hope that the lawyer can pull a rabbit 🐇 out of a hat 🎩.
If not I can only hope things work out for the best in the end.
That song keeps going through my head.
Lawyer, guns, and money.

The Legal issues seem to be in our favor.
So this means we will need to move up north.

But Bella is still upset and plucking more of her feathers. We are doing a lot of cleaning and throwing away stuff and the activity has her jumpy.
I keep telling her everything is ok and we are just “cleaning” but she knows Abby normal behavior when she sees it.

I’m trying to be calm about this sudden change.
It’s what I’ve always wanted but it’s going to be painful in a lot of ways.
I’m going to have to “live with “ my stepmother and basically be under her thumb until she moves out and that won’t be till next year.
Well the main point here is Bella not me and I don’t know how to calm her down under the circumstances.

I'm glad the move looks positive. Poor Bella, tho. I'm afraid Yvons will start plucking when I move, which could be within the year. Oy.

Sending tons of hugs to you and your family.

Sending hugs. Best way to keep her and others calm is to be calm. Music, tea, reading. What ever. Heck even if it's munching on an ice chip. Anything. As Bella picks up on your anxiety she'll pick up on annoying factors. Work on learning and getting your internal calm meter down. If possible to neutral. Get everyone in the family to do the same. I sympathize cause of two very annoying brother-laws. One I pretend I am a 5 speed and have to slow down for the radar just ahead. The other is a little worse. I'm a fully loaded 18 wheeler in high gear just going over a mountain top and knowing I gotta shift down and check brakes but a teeny part doesn't want to. You got my prayers and hopes. Stay calm.
