Quick question to everyone: what sort of large air filter would you recommend is the best for its size and price? I have the large Levoit filter, and while I like it, I feel like it isn’t doing the best job since the addition of Bluebell and her lovely feather dander. Anything $250 and under would be great!

Just for comparison... https://m.imgur.com/JtGgXRg

Great question!

I find loads of filters who are only okay for smallish bedrooms, not livingroom-sized.
(kind of frustrating, to be honest)

what cubic (meter/ feet/ anything) are you planning to have cleaned by it?

Have two Therapur air filters. One large one for my living room/dining room combo and a medium one for my bedroom. Both have reusable filters that don't require replacing which I love. I paid about $120 for the large one and about $90 for the medium. I've had the large one for quite a few years and I've had the medium one for less than a year.

Both work very well. I have asthma and severe allergies so I need ones that do a good job. The far end of my living room is THE dustiest part of my apartment. Its also the warmest. After getting the large purifier, the dust accumulation was cut in half. I went from having to dust once a week to having to dust every 2-3wks.

The entire area would probably be at most around 20x20 (feet), but the ceiling is 10 feet tall... I have no idea what the total area equals :p

Honeywell HPA300 is good for about 450 square feet, which the purifer you have will only do about 200 square feet, even though claims 325 square feet.
