So as you know
These guys poo and chew on everything

My bf has a fabric one with mesh and it's a nightmare for cleaning poop off

Luckily our parrots don't chew furniture so it being cushioned isn't a problem

Wasn't sure if anyone had good recommendations for easy to clean comfy gaming chairs

I'm not sure about gaming chairs, but I cover recliner chairs with bed sheets and pillow cases on the back. I cover anything else that I don't want decorated with old t shirts and fabric scraps. The lamp shade is covered with a hat. The book case in the birdie bedroom is covered with one of those rectangular bed protectors. Juliette however has surprised me with her bathroom etiquette and so far prefers to potty in her cage or on her play stand. She will actually fly over there just to poop. Last night I was cuddling her and she got squirrely and started to bite after being perfectly happy for over an hour in my shirt sleeve. I rushed her to her cage and she immediately did a big satisfying splat.

Well, I can tell you my hubby has a Secret Lab chair. Uh... Miss Ona has definitely done some damage to the pleather arms. She likes to chew them.

Nameliss doesn't chew on furniture. Her preference is for bath or beach towels thrown over back/seat of computer chair. I've noticed that there's less slipping with towels. If I'm sitting in chair the towel is removed from seat. I periodically go to thrift stores and stock up on them.

MY sister got a faux leather one from Ikea that she gave me. It's comfortable and although the faux leather peels a bit, it's stood up well to 2 cats, a dog, and to a lesser amount, the birds. :)

What's a "gaming chair"? Do they make chairs just for people who sit and play video games? How does it differ from an office chair for people who work at a computer all day?

Gaming chairs are geared for hard core video game especially the multi player online. Their variety is interesting. They're high back, contured, with or without sound. Some have special effects with vibration to imitate star ship drives. The biggest thing is the comfort. It is geared for individuals who will sit in place for hours. Sometimes days. Office chairs are planned knowing you will get out. Gaming chairs are planned knowing that you won't get out. The chairs attempt to make it easier to maintain proper body positioning. Players can/will get enthusiastic jumping, bending dodging as they swing sword, cast spells or any number of other things. Some of those online multiple player battles can last hours. The trend is battles are in stages. Each stage can last hours. The actual time depends on strategy, level, skill and team coordination. Your team mates can be in different states or countries. You plan and utilize the facilities, have snacks, drinks, charged batteries, sit. Nameliss will sit on gaming chair for sedate games. Otherwise she perches else so she can watch player and game. Nope I don't have one. My daughter has gone through a couple.
