That’s over 1400 full-sized candy bars plus 160 ā€œhealthyā€ fruit snacks! (We also give out treats to any dogs who happen to stop by!)

Oh my....those wouldn’t make it to Halloween in my house :D

That’s why we keep them in the ā€œformalā€ living room...no one ever goes in there...makes it just a little easier to forget they’re there...I always halfway hope that we will have something left over but in all honestly, those will be gone by 8:30 on Halloween night, even on years when it’s pouring rain outside!

We don’t get any kids here, since we’re out in the country - so I don’t even buy candy for Halloween any more because it just means my own waist will expand lol.

Once upon a time, we use to get 250 to 350 kids at our front door. Then we moved to the outer edge of the city. Even though we are the very first home in a development of 101 homes, no kids come as this area has switched years ago to tailgate Trick or Treat at the local fire department parking lot.
Kind of miss the activity, but sitting in a parking lot on the tailgate just isn't the same...

LOL! This is one of those neighborhoods where they shut down all the roads to vehicular traffic and then bus in the kids from the surrounding areas. This makes 20 years we’ve done Halloween here, so 20 years of handing out full-sized candy bars to 1000 + kids each year! It’s kind of funny, we’ve become a multi-generational legend in these parts!

I'll stop by on Halloween lol!

Seriously, that is a very generous gesture! I always overbuy and enjoy the remains for a long while. Many candy bars freeze will!

We used to get a lot of trick or treaters, but we knida got a bad rep in our neighborhood for scaring the crap out of the kids. Like hiding a hidden speaker in the bushes, hooked up to a microphine in the house with a box that lowers your voice an octive and we would growl and make all sorts of devil noises. Or hiding one of my sons in a pile of leaves next to the stoop, only have him jump out at the kids. LOL, they leave a wide berth around our place now.

But we never ever got close to 1000 kids inone night...

We used to have a lot of people in the neighborhood that went all out as far as decorating and some of them did some pretty scary stuff, but in the last couple of years we’ve seen a pretty big turn-over in the folks that live here so I’m really not too sure what the neighborhood is going to look like this year...

That's amazing--- I miss trick-or-treating.... Halloween as an adult just isn't as fun...Although it's nice when you live in an area that still gets trick-or-treaters!!! A few years ago I gave out candy and got 1 all night!!! :(

Trunk-or-treat is ruining suburban halloween.

That is just plain beautiful. Before I realized it, I had been staring for at least five minutes. *sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh*

I forced myself to break visual lock on the boxes of Reese's! :p

Let’s see...6 boxes of 36 packs, times 2 per pack...that’s 432 Reese’s cups! Reese’s are a HUGE favorite around here! We buy more of those than anything else...one year we royally screwed up and accidentally bought the king sized Reese’s...it was like sharks in a feeding frenzy! LOL!

I lived up the road from a well-known college prep school ( Choate School) where many dignitaries attended ( John F Kennedy Sr for one) Later in the evening those "kids" ( high school aged) would come knocking, not even wearing any costumes!  I'd turn the lights off at 8pm!

Only thing better than Reese's is dark chocolate Reese's! :):):)

I love Reese’s and I love dark chocolate...I just don’t love them together...as a mater of fact, I’m just an all around classic Reese’s girl. I don’t even like the mini Reese’s...the chocolate to peanut butter ratio is wrong!
