My name is Angel and I just adopted two Lovebirds from a breeder. Weenie and Luna have just entered my life today and im really exited! yes I have researched thoroughly before adopting them and will start the taming on Monday just to give my new cuties some time to adjust. Any tips are welcome because these are my first birds! :green1::orange:

Welcome to the forum Angel :). Weenie and Luna are precious!

Omg they're adorable and welcome!! I was big into crown tail Betta awhile ago. They're beautiful fish!! People don't realize you can have a betta in a community fishtail, they do extremely well as long as you don't have them with really nippy fish that will bite their fins. Anywho!! Welcome.

Welcome from a fellow fish keeper and parrot lover [emoji3]

❤️ Animals are like little angels sent to earth to teach us how to love ❤️

Welcome home, you found a great place here and we are thrilled to have you. Your two new babies are cute as a button. I love the faces of love-birds, they just look so darn innocent all the time. And remember never be afraid of asking questions here, we are always happy to help!

Thank you guys! They were rescued from their previous home that burned down in a forest fire (fort mcmurray fire). They suffered some burns and they were rehabilitated and put up for adoption. Their previous owner who surrendered them said that they were both 3. I didn't know that they had the personality of a large parrot! Yeesh!

In their own minds, I think *every* parrot thinks it's a large parrot and should have the personality of such!

Little bird syndrome. It's like little dog syndrome, but worse.

My senegal tries to bully my macaw and my amazon. He's not allowed out at the same time as the other birds unless there's a 1-1 human/bird ratio.

I'm a big fan of lovebirds :D They will definitely keep you entertained with their antics. Kudos to you for adopting!

I kept a betta and some ottocinclus for maybe 5 years in a planted tank. So beautiful! I really enjoyed them. My conure also loved to watch what happened in the tank.

Welcome!

You are going to have so much fun taming them, by which I mean there's going to be A LOT of blood. For over a month, my fingers were a mess when I was taming Noah. But seriously, use a perch to handle them. Try to keep them away from your fingers, but don't make it a game in doing so. Anyways, chin up and don't give up!

Oh, Fort McMurray? Poor little guys! They must have been a mess when they were brought in for rehabilitation. They'll probably have some psychological trauma.
