This is the normal response when I take Bingo out in the morning.
This was recorded in the afternoon and I was able to let it go on.
Try to imagen you have to sleep through that (as my wife does).

I think there is something else going on with Bingo's feathers.
For months I noticed that when he is grooming he makes this soft groaning noise. It's a quiet noise and difficult to record.
It sound like he is getting way too much enjoyment from chewing his feathers.

Persistent, aren't they. Bingo shut them right up though!

I love how that is quiet compared to potential volume, although it still is a great testament to how noisy they can be (especially, given the fact that this is a relatively low volume level in comparison to their capacity) haha.

I admit that is the lower volume of screaming.
But it’s still impossible to:
Have a conversation.
Watch tv.(correction you CAN watch tv, you sure won’t hear it).
Talk on the phone.
Sleep.
Listen to an audio book.

That’s why taking Bingo out of his cage in the morning (when the wife is sleeping) has been taking a back seat to keeping them quiet.

I think the cell phone lacks the ability to record sound at a distance accurate.
If the mic was too sensitive it would be difficult to have a conversation, picking up sounds and voices from too far away.

My JoJo loves it!
As for using a phone to record, use an app for recording lectures! You will get a much better pickup!

Oh- I didn't mean it wasn't super loud. I just meant that this was like..social/playful loud, vs the loud that could occur.

Amazon's when they are gong for max volume or when they are just fill the emptiness of the moment are clearly to very different levels!

When Julio is attempting to run-off the turkey(s) or Canadian Geese goes for the max-volume! His just filling the emptiness of the moment is much easier to handle as there is at least some hope for communication! :D

Guess I'm blessed with a "quiet" Amazon...except when he gets in to a talking jag lol.
