I give my BFA a bath with a spray bottle, but I also like her to have access to take her own bath whenever she wants one. I have a large ceramic dog water dish (too heavy to tip over) always on her cage top. it's about as big as a small dinner plate, and maybe 4 inches deep. She loves this bowl, and will dip her head in it, and throw water under her wings and splash all around.

But she does not get in that I can see and she doesn't seem to get wet all over. It is a okay bath, but I don't think it is a great one.

Does anyone else provide faciilties to bathe on demand and what do you provide?

Actually we are just getting ready to set up Rome's new bath. Until now she was getting sprayed with a water bottle or I would take her in the shower and put it on mist. I tried to find several different bowels, no matter what I put in there she would dump them over. So we just got her a actual bird bath and we are going to set it up next to her cage (shes outside loose during the day). So we'll see how that works out, if not I'll just put it outside for the wild birds.

My lilac crown amazon is brought into the shower with me a couple of times a week. When the weather is nice she likes to be misted with the hose. I think these are the best ways to get them really soaked. I think that the bath is only effective if they are truly soaked!
