Bird friendly air freshners

I know this is a question that has been asked many times before and I have done alot of researching into it. I have come across these and am wondering if they would be any good, from what I can see they are natural ingredients and dont use any oils. Has anyone else used them or have any knowledge on them?

I understand essential oils aren't great and candles/plug ins and other manafactured ones are a definite no no. I also know that boiling orange peels e.t.c. is good but my pans are all teflon and I dont like to leave the hob on for hours on end not to mention I am a single man who isn't one for the arty crafty style of air freshners. I usually leave the windows open but then I can't have persie out plus its getting cold this time of year so don't really want the windows open anyway.

Any other suggestions welcome

Link doesn't work for me, but I don't think I'd use any fragrance in the room where the birds are. Your best bet is cleanliness, I fear. If cages are clean and debris is kept under control, there shouldn't be much odor from the birds.

If you have a large house, mild fragrances elsewhere in the house are less likely to be an issue. I use Yankee Candle company scented candles and oil warmers, but not right where the birds are.

You DEFINITELY don't want to leave PTFE nonstick to sit on the gas for hours, that's a much higher risk than an air freshener IMO. MUCH higher.

I dont know if its healthy, but im sure its much healthier than most stuff.
I boil cinnamon in a safe crock pot pan. and i boil orange peels or grapefruit peels.
for a quick air freshener, put a microwave safe bowl in the microwave and boil cinnamon, orange peel, or grapefruit peels. remove from microwave while still hot and put it in a safe spot. you can also try ginger etc.

Hmmm, well I think what I am going to do is get one of those electric oil burners and just use water with an ingredient such as cinnamon or orange peel, that should give enough to just add a scent. Its not that the house smells of bird cage or anything bad its just I have always used air freshners (usually the plug ins) but haven't been able to since I got persie...

I always used to burn these scented candles made locally. The blueberry smelled just like blueberry muffins in the oven, oh I miss them so much. Thats the one thing I miss from my Pre Bird days. Now I actually have to bake the muffins to get the scent, but the Hubby and boys dont mind having to eat them at all.

You can also do what we did when we were selling our house. Get those packages of premade cookie dough and bake a couple of cookies when you want the house to smell good!
