Hi guys
I have a 4 and half month old Eclectus who has just such a Beautiful nature. My worry is that after his morning out of the cage and he returns he sits on the perch with his back to me which has happened on more than one occasion.
We have also a Lorie and 2 Indian ringnecks in the house.
Any helpful feed back would be fantastic.

kind regards Devastated.

Why is it bad with his back turned towards you???? Care to explain a bit more???

Sometimes Oliver will turn with his back facing me and I just figure he wants some alone time or he's looking out the window. I think you're fine as you describe your little boy to have a beautiful disposition...

I would be more concerned if he never placed his back to you. It shows that he is more comfortable and trusting of the environment that he does not need to watch.

Simply ensure the cage is in a corner so only 2-Sides can be approached from. If he continues doing and you have a problem with this (Why I do not know), you can just change where the perch is. I would wager for whatever reason it's more comfortable to sit with his back facing away.

That or he is sick. Keep an eye on droppings, as they will self-isolate sometimes if ill.

Ziggy did this when he was about that age. No worries - he hasn't done it since he was very young.
