Talking fresh and whole. Which is a different question from just the woods themselfs. 🤔

I'm in a situation where it is safe to cut fresh branches and whole saplings for my birds, and I would like to. I am isolated from any roads or anything like that and I do not spray anything and the surrounding lands are all hunting forest and not managed with any sprays or anything like that. The nearest spot that gets sprayed is down a cliff, across a creek, and thru some trees. To be safe tho I would cut from the other side of my 60 acre property.
 
Look at the recent thread entitled "Leg Band Look up for Fellow Canadians". There's a link in this thread that has a list of bird safe plants and trees.
There are other threads that include such lists, top.
It sounds like the plants on your property are chemical free.
 
Here's a list I made. It's pretty comprehensive but might not have every tree you're considering, depending on where you live.
